1. OBJECTIVES Three main objectives can be pointed out for the offering of a Master Course in European Studies in the region.
The first one is related to the need to prepare a set of experts that could become the links between the Asia-Pacific Region and the European Union.
The second one is related with the preparation of students that intend to follow post-graduate studies in Europe.
Third, and this is especially relevant to Macau, to develop the capacity of knowledge in European issues, as far as the Territory can have a function as the go-between of Europe, China and the Asia-Pacific Region.
The Master is organised in two parts: course work and Thesis. As a main condition for admission to the Master Course is a 'Licenciatura' or an equivalent Undergraduate degree (B.Sc. or B.A.). As far as academic backgrounds are concerned, a priority is given to the following courses: economics, management, public administration, sociology and law. The Master's programme gives 27.5 credits. The University of Macau awards the certificate.
