Mitsuo Matsushita
Biographical Information
Mitsuo Matsushita is a professor of law at Seikei University (Tokyo Japan) and a special adviser of the Tokyo law firm: Nagashima, Ohno & Tsunematsu. He is a member of Tokyo Bar (Daiichi Tokyo Bengoshikai).
He was a founding member of the Appellate Body of the World Trade Organization (WTO) from 1995 to 2000.
He obtained a Ph.D degree from Tulane University and a D.Jur degree from Tokyo University. He was a professor of law at Sophia University (1968-1983) and at Tokyo University (1984-1994). He was a member of a number of advisory councils attached to the government of Japan including: The Customs and Tariffs Council (the Ministry of Finance) and the Telecommunications Council (the Ministry of Telecommunications and Posts).
